Wedding Planning for Youngsters

In 2020, the median age to get married in Canada was 26.9 for women and 29.2 for men (1).

What does this mean?

It appears to be that those deciding to wed in an arguably well-educated and developed country such as Canada, get married, on average, in their late twenties. To me, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Millennials and Gen Zs are now facing so much uncertainty when it comes to the future.

In 2020, my sister’s then boyfriend (now husband) decided to pop the question during their pre-covid trip to Abu Dhabi, when they’d made a short trip to Dubai. She had just turned 24 at the time.

When she returned, she created a beautiful Maid of Honour proposal and asked me if I would take on the role. How could I say no!?

It was a big responsibility for a then 21-year-old to handle but I accepted it with open arms.

This is my experience of wedding planning as a youngster.
